Shenandoah Telecommunications Company Announces Launch Of Mobile Broadband Service

EDINBURG, VA, (November 1, 2007) -- Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel; NASDAQ: SHEN) and its wireless subsidiary, Shenandoah Personal Communications Company, a PCS Affiliate of Sprint  announced today that Sprint Mobile Broadband service is available to major portions of the I-81 and I-83 corridors from Harrisonburg, VA to Harrisburg and York, PA.  This service enables users to access the Internet through their computer or PCS phone on Sprint’s wireless network at DSL-like speeds.  The service will be available in Harrisburg and York, PA, as well as Hagerstown, MD, Martinsburg, WV, Winchester and Harrisonburg, VA, and surrounding areas.

Sprint is the first major wireless provider to offer high-speed Internet service in western Maryland, eastern West Virginia and the northern Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.  In many places, Sprint’s Mobile Broadband service is the only high-speed wireless network offered.  “We are very excited about our wireless high-speed Internet service,” said Chris French, President and CEO, “It provides a great opportunity for many who have no broadband option to receive service.  It also gives customers mobility to access the Internet anywhere.”

Since the Sprint service is wireless, it allows users to access the Internet in their home and office and areas in between.  It is a perfect solution for customers who like to take their laptops with them and for communities that do not have access to high-speed DSL or cable services. Customers can try the service at their area Sprint store.

To use the service, customers purchase a small wireless card or USB device that attaches to a laptop or desktop computer.  The Sprint service offers unlimited usage for less than $60 a month.  From now until the end of the year, customers in the Shentel Sprint areas will receive two free months of service when they sign up.

The Company expects to continue to expand its Mobile Broadband footprint over the next several years.  Sprint’s Mobile Broadband service is available in many markets across the U.S. including Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Shenandoah Telecommunications Company is a holding company that provides a comprehensive portfolio of telecommunications products and services through its operating subsidiaries.
